Looking for new Webmaster

in

BRSA will soon need a new webmaster. We thought it would be best to make this transition while I (the 'old' webmaster) am still around.

Thanks to our work with Student Activities IT people, the next webmaster won't have to know a whole bunch of stuff. To keep this going, you only have to:

- know how to blog
- know how to send an e-mail and
- be able to use facebook.

Remember this is an EASY way to give back to our community.
I speak from experience when I say that information can make a HUGE difference in the lives of students and visiting professors that come to Bryan/College Station. I'm sure many of you would agree. So please give it a thought when I say these 1-2 hours/week can be super important for someone even a few thousand miles away.

Interested > email us at brsa@brsa.tamu.edu or myself at adalmolin arroba tamu.edu

Also, just to make sure you know - this work is VOLUNTEER.

Thank you,

Ana

IT officer/webmaster

Brazilian Science in The Economist

in

http://www.economist.com/node/17851421

"POPULAR with foreigners looking for sun, sea and samba, Brazil wants to turn itself into a hot destination for seekers of science. Though its own bright graduates still head to Europe or the United States for PhDs or post-doctoral fellowships, nowadays that is more because science is an international affair than because they cannot study at home. The country wants more of them to return afterwards, and for the traffic to become two-way."
